Eid Milad Un Nabi (12th Rabi-ul-Awawal 1445 A.H

Prophet Muhammad, also known as Muhammad ibn Abdullah or Muhammad (peace be upon him), is the central figure in Islam and the last prophet of Islam. Here is a short biography of Prophet Muhammad (SAW):

Birth and Early Life:

  • Prophet Muhammad was born in the city of Mecca in present-day Saudi Arabia in the year 570 CE. His full name was Muhammad ibn Abdullah.
  • He was born into the influential and respected Quraysh tribe, specifically into the Hashim clan.
  • Muhammad's father, Abdullah, passed away before his birth, and his mother, Amina, died when he was only six years old. He was subsequently raised by his grandfather, Abdul-Muttalib, and later by his uncle, Abu Talib.

Prophethood and Revelation:

  • At the age of 40, while meditating in the Cave of Hira near Mecca, Muhammad received his first revelation from Allah  through the Angel Gabriel (Jibril in Arabic). This event marked the beginning of his prophethood.
  • These revelations continued over a period of 23 years and were compiled into the holy book of Islam, the Quran.

Mission and Challenges:

  • Muhammad's mission was to convey the message of monotheism and the worship of one God, Allah, to the Arabian Peninsula, which was characterized by polytheism and idol worship.
  • He faced opposition and persecution from the leaders of Mecca, who resisted his message and saw it as a threat to their economic and social status.
  • Despite the hardships, Muhammad continued to preach the message of Islam, emphasizing compassion, justice, and moral conduct.

Migration to Medina:

  • In 622 CE, due to escalating persecution and threats to his life, Muhammad and his followers migrated to the city of Medina, where he was welcomed as a leader.
  • In Medina, he established a diverse and inclusive community based on the principles of justice and equality.

Return to Mecca and Final Years:

  • After years of struggle, Muhammad and his followers eventually returned to Mecca in 630 CE. Mecca peacefully surrendered to the Muslims, and Muhammad forgave those who had opposed him.
  • In the years following the conquest of Mecca, Muhammad continued to preach and consolidate the Islamic state.

Passing Away:

  • Prophet Muhammad passed away on June 8, 632 CE, in Medina, at the age of 63. His passing marked the end of his prophethood.
  • His final sermon, delivered during his last pilgrimage to Mecca, emphasized the importance of unity, justice, and the equality of all believers.

Prophet Muhammad's life and teachings continue to serve as a source of guidance, inspiration, and mercy  over the world. His legacy includes not only the Quran but also the Hadith (recorded sayings and actions), which provide comprehensive guidance on various aspects of life, faith, and morality.
